Bubba passed away yesterday. We are very sad and we are going to miss him bunches, but we know it was for the better. My friend Rowynn wrote about him so I thought I would share.
In Honor of Bubba
I have to say that I will really miss Bubba! Or Snubba, or Snubba Bubba, or Bubbie. I had the priveledge of knowing him for twelve of his thirteen years, which was a gift in and of itself. Not only was Bubba an old soul and an awesome four legged, he was a friend. When I first met him, he was just a puppy still, and full of puppy energy and orneriness! I used to go home with Cyn to her apartment only to find that he had eaten a couch or some clothing. We would always take him to the BG football field to get his ya yas out. I have never known another dog who could run and run and run like Bubba! We would often then treat him to bits of taco bell bean burritos, since we were poor and that was all we could afford. Bubba was more than loyal, surviving many a move with Cyn...at least seven I can think of right off the top of my head. He also supported her through different relationships and the ups and downs of life. Bubba knew the parks and walking paths of Clintonville by heart. He knew exactly how to escape Ginger's invisible fence. He loved to chase squirrels and birds and play with Skylar at Lobdell. More than anything, Bubba was a lover who always let you know how important he thought you were the minute you came to his door. Many a manic "I love you!" would be lavished upon a guest in the form of Bubba cries and moans of joy. I always loved that you had to affirm him and return the love or he would be beside himself! Bubba loved his crab toy above all others, cherishing it until the day he could take no more and would succumb to the need to shred it. He would love on you and cheer you up when you were down. Another of my favorite Bubbaisms was his need for space on the couch. Do not under any circumstances touch the feet when resting. I can so relate! I hate when my feet get touched and Bubba would have none of it! When the kids came along he transitioned into his new role as family dog, and did so brilliantly! He was patient and tolerant and an expert at getting food from little hands. These are just a few of my favorite Bubba memories. He was one of a kind, a true friend and I will miss him! I'm so glad I got to see you and say goodbye, thank you for sharing some of yourself with me Bubba. I know I'll see you 'round, but I will miss you just the same, and always love you!
